The Ashram provides platform to many cultural activities like classical dance, singing, music and other events commemorating great personalities and celebrating cultural significance. Classical dance form like Bharatnatyam, music classes for teaching harmonium and tabla, are some of the primary activities conducted weekly under the umbrella of Kalatirtha.
Every year the Ashram exhibits cultural programs during the annual day anniversary function and as celebration of Pujya Swamiji’s birthday. Some of the recent programs included drama on Meerabai, classical dance form like Bharat Natyam, Kuchipudi and Odissi, and bhajans on Meerabai. Events commemorating great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi are organized generally every year, followed by Pujya Swamiji’s Āśīrvacanam. The musical program commemorating 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi which showcased bhajans dear to Mahatma Gandhi was one of the noteworthy events presented by students of Smt. Mudrikaben Jani, a well known music teacher. In the past, Ashram has also celebrated patriotic events such as Republic Day, and other such events of cultural significance. The Ashram has showcased public events in the form of musical program, ḍāyaro on Adi Guru Shankaracharyaji, presenting his life history and signifying his glory.
The Ashram has also participated in special events such as tree planting program in collaboration with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Shree H K Adhyaru Charitable Trust in celebration of Pujya Swamiji’s Shatabhishekam (80th birth year). Special programs including revised version of the grand play ‘Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya’, Bhakti Sandhya, a presentation of devotional songs as an offering to Pujya Swamiji by known artists, dance and other programs had been arranged as part of celebration of Pujya Swamiji’s Shatabhishekam during the year 2019-2020. All are cordially invited to participate in the cultural activities organized at the Ashram.
